  • Because the intrigue is in the pursuit.
  • What a great question. This has happened so much. I wish I knew how to fix it.
  • It's "the thrill of the chase" for some, and nothing more. They don't really want a relationship. They just enjoy the chase and the "prize" at the end. And some will only "go so far" (bed) so they can brag to their friends that they've finally got you. It's not something I believe in, would do, or expect either of my boys to do, but it happens. Sorry if it was you or a friend of yours that it happened to.
  • There are two different cases here. The first has already been stated... the "thrill of the chase". There is however, a second thing that can happen: Face it, charming a lady is a lot of work. After you get into a relationship, some guys like to "rest" for a bit and recharge. Most guys aren't romantic by nature so we need to kind of pull back and regroup mentally. This is heightened by the fact that many women also have unrealistic expectations about what a guy should be, basically looking for the "perfect" guy (who doesn't exist) and then beat him over the head when she finds out that the guy can't be Mr. Romantic all the time. That takes a lot out of a guy. So sometimes we're just tired from the chase and need give our romantic sides a little nap. :)
