  • Take it back dude!
  • definetly take it back...all they have to do is plug in the diagnostic computer to tell them what sensor is causting the light to come on...
  • The dealer is a dirtbag for not looking into it. It would only take a moment to pull the code and he's giving you a phone diagnosis? Try not to choke anyone when you take it back down.
  • The Dealer is just below "Pond Scum"!!! Yes, gas cap is a possible problem, but why aren't THEY CHECKING IT FOR U??? Because they don't want to spend a penny to help U!!! Pull the Neg. Battery cable off for a few min. & it should clear the "Codes". If it comes on again they need to "Pull" the "Codes" & fix the Damned thing right or U give it back to them & file a complaint with the State & BBB in town!!! U have "Rights" learn to exercise Ur "Nads"!!! John
  • I'd take it to AutoZone if there's one near you. They do free diagnostic checks. See if they'll give you a printout of what the issue is, and then forcibly shove the printout in the dealership mechanic's face.
  • thanks everyone. The "service engine soon" light finally went off on its own approx 1 week later, THEN it came back on again yesterday. So the dealership now has the car.
