I don't find it unusual because blacks are very welcome in any church I've ever attended, and of the black churches I'm familiar with, whites are more than welcome. I just think it's congregations that people have grown accustomed to and the type of service that one enjoys is what leads them to a particular church, not race segratation.

No, I find the church to be one of the most segregated organizations ever created. If there is one God and Jesus, why are there so many denominations? Why can't people focus more on the blatant similarities rather than insignificant differences. I should be able to go to a church service and have no idea which denomination the church is.
