  • Sure, it happens a lot like sometimes there is a glitch and a question repeats several times. Or sometimes you forget you asked it already. But it doesn't reflect badly on you. It just gets combined with the original question though the points don't transfer. If you do notice that you have experienced a glitch and a question has posted many times, it's best to find a community leader and get them to remove them for you as often people will get angry and start downrating you like crazy. SO to stop that from happening, find a CL and they will get rid of them for you:-)
  • Of course... Happens all the time... Sometimes the system is a bit slow on filing the question, and people hit the SUBMIT button more than once. Each hit adds another copy of the question. Therefore, they duplicated their own question. Now asking the same question in ALMOST exactly the same way (for the same answers) may or may NOT be caught as a duplicate for some time, but it will eventually be caught. For example, I've recently run across numerous examples of questions I thought I'd seen before. I did the duplicate check, and found a number of OTHER questions that duplicated another in the list, even IF the question I was checking didn't. You can answer your own prior question to bring it to the front of the line again, if you wish, though I would consider putting a "****NO POINTS... ANSWERED TO REASK THE QUESTION*****" note in the answer. Your answer COULD also ask MORE about the original question. I'm not sure if a minor edit on your prior question will bring it back up-front... (If someone knows for sure, please comment here.) ...but that's another possibility.
