  • the best thing you could do is get some lessons in an english saddle. it will feel a little awkward and kind of strange at first adjusting to the style of riding, but you'll manage. the only real differences in english are that you will use one hand on each rein, a broken snaffle bit on the horse, and you'll have to learn how to post. you will also not sit as deep in the saddle(you'll have to learn a "2-point" position". in conclusion i just recommend finding a nearby equestrian ranch/farm/center, etc. and looking for an instructor
  • realy it depends on the trainer you ride with because if that person has only riden western they wont be able to help you as much as someone whos rides english regularly.
