Um. Wow. 17 and 12 are FAR apart on the maturity and development and growth level. You may want to rethink this relationship. I'm not sure about Flordia, but I don't think you're allowed to be involved with someone romantically if they are 12 and under and you are 3 or more years apart.

Why don't you both wait 10 years? 27 and 22 is much more socially and legally acceptable.

Easy answer is no. 12 year olds aren't in any position or stage of life to get serious about anyone and aren't ready for a relationship. They aren't anywhere near ready to handle th problems that can come up, as I think a 17 year old is barely ready for it. Save dating for people that are mature and can think about a future together, not just some way to spend the summer with a friend.

I am seriously distrubed by this question. I have a 11 year old neice and she doesnt even have boobies yet or her period. What the hell could you possibly thinking to want to date a 12 year old and you are 17. If you were 12 it would be ok but there is a 5 year diffrence there and granted 5 years might not be a big deal for a 20 and 25 year old because the are both adults but a 12 year old and 17 year old. =/ its called love knows no age people when i was 12 i dated a 17 year old. we found nothing wrong with it because i was mature. and he was too. some people are so shallow sometimes the only reason a person should be put in jail is if the other one doesnt love them back or didnt agree to a relationship... but thats beyond the point. it is legal to date a 12 year old in florida im pretty sure just dont have a sexual relationship with them.

I think that is too young for the 12 year old. She is just in puberty and not even a teen. A baby yet. The 17 year old is having raging hormones and is in a totally different place then where the 12 year old is. I would not think a good idea for that age level to date .
