I could not give you a good answer on this.In the past, as a child our family adopted 2 baby squirrels, and learned how to take care of them. Also my grandfather took in a wolf pup and it became the farmyard dog.It is a big responsibility. You could give it to animal control, but you never know what they will do with it.

I guess, if you dont want to keep it once it gets older you should get it used to looking for food on its own, gradually of course, but if you like having it around you can take care of it at home. who knows, racoons might make a good pet.

Turn this wild animal loose and let nature take it's course.

Set it free or call animal control. Make sure you board up the hole that they came into the attic through, otherwise they will be back.

If your town is large enough to have a Humane Society, call them for help. Maybe a local veterinarian could offer a suggestion. Depends on how little the critter is. If teeny, try a little goats milk in a doll bottle or eye dropper. Otherwise, I think they like cat food. But I may be wrong, so good luck.
