  • I used to love those books.... I loved the idea of being another animal and fighting evil but I always found Toby's situation so sad. Ax was one of my favorite characters. why do you ask?
  • haha way back in the day i used to read it!! i was even the type of nerd who brought it to class so that on "free time" i could read (this was in 5th grade)..until someone stole my book..and then i stopped bringing them in...but they were the coolest books haha
  • I did go through a time when I read a good amount of them. Looking back, the whole topic is a bit cheesy though.
  • My kids loved that series. We still have about twenty or thirty books sitting on the shelves.
  • I was slightly obsessed... although I sorta aged out of them before the series ended... and believe me I was reading the series WAY after it was way below my reading level. I have a distinct memory of reading them in class in 7th grade. In the 4th grade we had to right our own story that was a spin off of an actual book or movie or somehting... its fourth grade the assignment was supposed to be what 2 pages? I wrote Seamorphs (the characters could turn into things that lived in or near the sea... the alien type creatures were these froglike blobby creatures that had no mouths... the plot of the story was to save the alien type creatures... or the planet... I can't remember... they had to find this box-y thing that was at the bottom of the ocean.) Anyway, my "2-pg" assignment was more like 20... Remember the TV show? On Nick.. I was so sad when it got cancelled... I mean it was crap but still I was sad they cancelled it. The books stayed on my bookshelf until I was in highschool... no joke. I really loved those books.
  • I am nineteen years old. I first started reading the series this summer. I finished all the books (there are 64 or 65 of them) before the summer had ended! It deals with the theme of war... some of the books could be interpreted as very anti-war... Before I read "The Hork-Bajir Chronicles", one of the unnumbered books in the series, I thought this series was cheesy power rangers garbage... now I know better. I advise reading Hork Bajir Chronicles and Book 19 before judging the series as a whole.
