Does anyone knoe a home remedy for head lice, besides the store bought shampoo or shaving the childs head.

For head lice problem wash your hair with vinegar. It will kill all the nits in two days. Apply coconut oil to your head after shampoo and condition. Add ten to fifteen drops of tea tree oil into shampoo bottle and use it daily. Another remedy is to rub listerine mouth wash on your head. This will kill all the lice.

Well, about 10 years ago, my daughter came home from the babysitters (her first and only time there) with lice and even some of the store-bought stuff for lice didn't work and to find this out after spending a lot of money was a very frustrating experience. Anyway, I heard somewhere that hair dye works so I bought a cheap box of hair dye closest to her hair color and the lice were gone instantly! I had only spent $2 on the hair dye. She never went back to the babysitters and lice problem went away.

go to the farm supply and buy "lindane"(if it is still available the gov't seems to ban anything that works) it MUST be diluted about 25:1.wash your hair and apply lindane vigorously,let hair semi-dry, then rinse it will kill lice and their nits.

Tea tree oil!!! It works wonders on ALOT of stuff. You should look it up on google.
