  • you should go to church if its is what you want to do
  • Most Catholic churches have classes called RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults which you can join to learn about your faith and then you can receive your first communion. I went through this, and was actually baptized about 8 years ago and I really enjoyed it and got a lot out of it. You will need a sponsor for the process. This is someone who is Catholic and will attend the classes with you and be with you for all the ceremonies. If you don't know anyone appropriate, the church can help you. All the best!!
  • RCIA baby. u need a sponsor [basically a god mom or god dad] and u prepare around christimastime i think and then eastertime is when all the sacraments happen, good luck!
  • Talk to friends and co-workers that attend church regularly and see if you could go with them. That way, you won't be all alone when you go. If you want to go to church, by all means go. You're an adult and make your own decisions.
  • I was in the exact same boat a few years ago. Call the church, talk to the priest. They will be more than happy to help you continue with your sacraments.
  • You could follow any of the sensible advice in the five answers so far. Or you could take this opportunity to find out about other Christ-believing and non-Christ-believing faiths and see whether you want to continue down the RC path or tread a new one. PS - BTW Islam, with its HQ, comes under Christ-believing faiths while Judaism, though it has the Hebrew Bible, comes under non-Christ-believing faiths
  • Go to the church of your choice, walk in the door, and talk to the greeter or priest that you meet there.
  • If you want to attend the Catholic Church, I would strongly suggest taking the RCIA classes (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. They will teach you all the things you missed out on by not attending PSR (parish school of religion) classes as a child, and by not being confirmed (at about the age of 17) into the Catholic Church. The classes are informal and fun, while giving you lots of information. You'll be teamed up with a sponsor, (unless you have someone who will do that for you), so you'll have a one-on-one person to go to with any questions, and I guarantee you'll learn more than many of the life-timers truly know about their religion. Good for you for wanting to pursue this on your own. I wish you only the best.
  • Go to confession, and tell the priest that your past is all screwed up and you are unworthy of being called a Catholic or a Christian, and you are a poor hopeless sinner and going to Hell for sure, and then walk out the door and never go back.
  • Just turn up, your faith is not on a identity card so no one will check to see if you attend regularly. Good luck and i hope it suits you
  • Just start going to Mass. After all, you are Catholic. The other's advise about going to RCIA is excellent advise for preparing to receive the sacrament. Go and talk to your parish priest. Depending on what you have learned about the Faith, you may not have to go to RCIA if this is in line with the wishes of your Bishop.
  • just go to church you shouldnt have to take a class to learn a religion and plus religion is not god or jesus christ or the mother mary. its a cult you dont have to be in a religion to have faith or to be seen as a believer in god.
  • If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask for information about their RCIA Inquiry group. You can go and ask any questions you want. This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time. There is no obligation to become a Catholic.
