For a slightly older child I would have suggested a tsp of honey and lime but I don't think a three month old child could digest that. My mom used to give us a lick of honey since the time we were a month old but now a days doctors advice parents to not give honey till the baby is six months old. Keep this in mind for when your baby is older. Honey and cinnamon powder, honey and lime and for 3/4 year olds honey and a bit of ginger juice are excellent home remedies for cough. For your baby please follow the doctor's advice as s/he is just too young

INFANTS SHOULD NEVER BE GHIVEN HONEY. NOT WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR. (I KNOW THIS IS AN OLD QUESTION I JUST DON'T WANT ANYONE TO READ THIS AND THINK IT'S OK.)

humidifier works well to help ease inflamed passages or sit in the bathroom with a hot shower and the door closed

Ask your peditrician first as NO ONE should be giving out, or taking advice on infants without a doctors approval Too much at stake... don't you think?
