Yes - I find myself squinting more and more - I recently learned I need glasses and have yet to fill the prescription. The squinting itself isn't bad, but it is an indicator you need to get your eyes checked.

Yes, usually when I forget my sunglasses.

I squinted before I got my glasses corrected. It's a lot easier to see with glasses then by squinting. Squinting causes wrinkles too.

Squinting helps you see because it narrows the angle of light entering your eye, thus increasing the depth of field, much like using a very small aperture setting on an SLR camera. The only drawbacks I can see to squinting is developing wrinkles, and walking around looking like Popeye or Mr. Magoo.

My eyes get worse every year and I need stronger and stronger glasses so yes, I squint to focus better and no it isn't good for them.

Yes, I used to squint my eyes too and I totally agree with Penal Colony is Wicked Appreciative about the reason that squinting helps better. Unfortunately, you are getting wrinkles out of squinting your eyes too often. But it is not a big problem. I was able to get rid of 3(!) deep wrinkles under my eyes when I found Eye Lifting Exercises. I placed them on my website http://www.snezha.com Take a look at tab 'Eye Lifting Exercises', you will find these procedures there. 10 days of doing these exercises will help you to get rid of these wrinkles! And now about something very helpful that gives the same effect like from squinting, but also improves your eye muscles. Try to look inside (right between your eyes) and up. It is very difficult in the beginning, but the effect is remarkable. You can also try to stretch your eye muscles by looking either at the right top corner or at the left top corner. I find it replacing squinting. After each of these exercises, try to blink a lot to relax and misture your eyes.
