  • My brother and his wife (16) were the same age and they went to Minnesota. Her mom had to be there but not her dad. Do the research to make sure there wasn't anything I didn't know about in the situation but I think it was about that cut and dry.
  • You could wait until you are legally allowed to make this decision yourself.
  • Not legally...
  • Not legally until 18. Why won't your Mom? Have you talked to her about it? She may have very good reasons. It's not easy being married at any age, let alone 16.
  • Wait until you are an adult is the only way. Why the rush to get married so young? If you love each other that much he will still be there for you when you can get married without parental consent.
  • Obviously you are not mature enough to get married otherwise you would not be trying to sneak around behind your father's back. Any mother who encourages her 16 year old daughter to get married has some issues. You have the rest of your life to be someone's partner...just worry about education and a career right now. Have you read a newspaper lately and heard about the economy? Get a college degree and a great job to be better than your parents generation! Sorry for the rant...I'm a mother and you asked!!!
  • I have to agree with another poster here... if you're trying to sneak around behind your father's back to do something he obviously doesn't want you to, that's an indication that you aren't mature enough to actually be married. And maybe he saw that. That's childish behavior; you can wait two more years to do it legally and without having to act like you're sneaking out of the house to go make out with your boyfriend.
  • Get married in Tennessee!
