  • I remember sitting on my toilet crying, "I thought I wanted my period, but I don't!!" I was 10. My sister went downstairs to get a pad for me and told my parents, of course. So, first my mom and then my dad made their way upstairs. My mom and sister talked to me about menstruation and hygiene, and my father gave me a life talk. Looking back, it was a good family bonding experience.
  • I definitely didn't want it. That excitement thing is mostly a lie. It's really there to lull you into a false sense of accomplishment. After all, you'll be stuck with that dreadful curse for the next (roughly) 40-something years.
  • I was sort of relieved, but intrigued, about what it was actually like..
  • no i was well pissed off, cos i was about to go to hospital with a practically broken thumb! i was at school and somebody had shut my hand in a door, and i was just going to the toilet before i went to hospital, and there it was! i was not happy!
  • well i did not get my period till i was 16 then i got preg when i was 17 so if i would not have got it i probly would not have got preg but im happy wit my daughter
  • I've never known anyone to be excited to get their period. I certainly wasnt. I hated it. 11 years on and I still hate it. urgh.
  • Well.. I'm only 13. But I haven't gotten my period yet and all my friends have. I feel so left out of all their conversations. I want my period so I can finally say I have it! I'm sure I'll hate it once I have it, but since I don't, I really want it to come. And plus, your first period is exciting! It's your first step into adulthood! It's got to feel like making a new beginning. That's why girls are excited to get their periods. Sure, it sucks once you have it, but its agonizing to wait for!
  • Hell no, not me lol! i had just turned 12 when i got mine. i thought i had more time lol! and it was at scool so it really sucked for me! luckily one of my friends had hers at the time and she gave me an extra pad. but yeah i hated my first period!
  • I always thought that the mothers (or for me, grandmother, because mom was absent) were excited for their daughters to get their first period. I never wanted it. I actually wanted to escape to Neverland and never grow up.
