  • She gives away good stuff. I'd probably act like that too. They are excited!
  • I stopped getting angry and appalled at stuff on tv a long time ago, especially anything that would be on Oprah.
  • Yup. Almost like the sea had parted right before their eyes. A materialistic society is what we've become. No matter how hard we all deny it, most are just fooling themselves. Just so you know, going to this exact place on AB and asking this q, is probably gonna get you some flak, but not from me.
  • I almost croaked when I finally watched my tivo'ed "Oprah's Fav Summer Things" and saw how rediculous everyone looked. Almost died. Instead of handing out grills, actually do something for people...pleeeeease. It was crazy! Jumping and screaming for a grill. This is definitly not something Oprah should be proud of.
  • You know baby sis, we stopped watching Oprah months ago..why? I'm not exactly sure..but she seems to have changed..now, if I were a billionaire and had so much power, I'd probably change too. Sometimes her audiences are clearly well-to-do, and I think it is unseemly to gift them with things they could buy for themselves. She is a very charitable person to be sure and has done much good..but still, something has changed so we watch other things instead..tennis, travel channel, food channel, news, whatever..her show no longer is of interest to us! Happy Wednesday! :) (9hugs))
  • If the same money was spent getting a home for every orphan in the United States who needed one, we would have no "child is waiting adoption programs" on TV. It makes me sick to see such a travesty. It's bad enough the richest woman in the United States has to build a school in Africa, while homeless, parentless African-American children are wandering the streets of her own country.
  • Maybe they are all told to act extra excited, so it looks good and like Oprah is a saint for giving stuff a way. You know, like some of the sitcoms used to have the live audience laugh at certain times during the taping of the show.
  • Nauseous is the word for it, not just with this particular show, but with the blind worship she seems to inspire with everything. I think she does some amazing things in the world and is often ridiculed out of pure jealousy. But the woman could tell people she eats dog crap for dinner and they'd be scooping Fido's poop for the evening meal. That's what's scary, disturbing and almost cult-like;)
  • It's called adrenalin.
  • i am so over Oprah and her charities and her favorite things..i can't stand it..hope she gets cancelled
  • Don't you sort of get the willies when you see how out of control these guests get? I think it makes you wonder if you would react in a similar way. I hope that if I was suddenly bombarded with free things I wouldn't squeal and freak out.
  • I get appalled when I think of Oprah
