Doubt it. theres enough invasion of privacy already.

Doubt it people love their food too much

It might have some effect. But then there would have to be at least as many scales as their were Pizza Hut commercials. And there are so many fat people in America, I think that the embarrassment wouldn't be as great as one might think.

It might. It also might shame a lot of people that CAN'T lose weight for whatever reason. And it would certainly contribute to an increase in anorexia and bulimia.

A whole lot of people would never go out.

No, there's certainly enough fat discrimination and shame about weight in the US and there's certainly a lot of people with unhealthy weights. Doesn't work!

I actually like that idea and would be willing to try it assuming the weight wasn't recorded / associated with me personally. Tying it to me personally, my picture or medical records, would lead to insurance companies not insuring overweight people and many other privacy issues. I need constant motivation to lose weight. If you're looking for other ideas though, I have many. For example, if junk food and candy were exorbitantly expensive kind of like healthy food is right now and healthy food was cheap, I bet you'd see results. If corn syrup and over processed crap was banned and health care was improved... I wrote this with America in mind. Other countries already have some or all of these in place. Candy bars in Japan are $3-5. Europe has restrictions on corn syrup and other ingredients.
