After my first divorce i moved into a trailer park, and we had a trailer trash bash! My friends even had a cake shaped like a mobile home! It was a good time though!

At my college, my friends and I have "Letter parties" We choose a letter and everyone dresses up as something that begins with that letter. My favorite costume of all time was our "S" party where my friend sat in a rolling chair all night and drank his beer from a straw. He was Staphen Hawking. :) We are a bunch of science geeks, so it was a huge hit.

I have had a few, but the funnest one, was the Luau. Coconut bras and grass skirts!

Mostly my themes revolve around a country or ethnic foods. Though I have had a poetry party and a black and white party.

As an adult, themes are all well and good, but can be corney. So if you are going to do it, don't go overboard with corney decorations, costume, etc. Just pick a menu that matches, cute invites and a few decorative touches. I did a Cinco De Mayo with margarita's, lots of mexican flavored munchies, and chili pepper invites. Left it at that...no sambrero's or maraca's...that's going too pre-school.

I've had theme parties for as long as I can remember. Let's see... Dolphins (just decorated the house in my room decor...I used to be quite obsessed with this animal) Hollywood (decorated, had theme games, gave everyone sunglasses and blow-up mics, had people come dressed as a movie-star or character, etc.) Girly-girl (I had everyone come in a prom or fancy dress, we did hair, nails, watched chick-flicks...my tomboy friends wanted to strangle me :P ) Anti-Valentine's Day (We all said why we're happy we're still single) England (I made everyone use British words for things, had some flags up, had a tea party) Golden (for, you guessed it, my golden birthday. Just had gold decorations) Halloween (of course everyone dressed up!) And of course, murder mystery. I've done a few of these--very fun. This year I'm planning a literature party. Haven't quite decided what that will entail, except that my cake will be in the shape of a book. :)

Blackout party - Everyone can only wear black or something that will glow under black lights. It was sorta a mini-rave that a ton of friends put on in their house. Beach party - Everyone shows up in only beach attire. We held the party in January, so it made us all hopeful for summer. '2' party - you're only allowed in if you're wearing 2 pieces of clothing or less Needless to say, they have all been huge successes

I've only had 2 themed parties but really have the bug for them now!The planning is as much fun as the party almost! We had a Hillbilly theme this past April and a World War 2 one last summer.

many, bad taste is the easiet, just some nasty ol bits and pieces out of the back of our wardrobe,!! we've had pimps and prostitutes, black and white, bad taste, 70's, ......
