Has 'individuality' lost it's meaning? It seems everyone these days wants to be 'individual', because everyone else is doing it... doesn't make sense.

when individuality is something to be pointed at and sought after then yes it has no meaning anymore. anybody "aware" of their own individuality is fooling themselves, you dont feel different because its just who you are and have always been. i hope this makes sense to a reader cause in my head it makes more sense than typed out

Really? I see hardly anyone even making an attempt to be unique. "That guy in the cool emo band wears mascara, so I'll wear mascara", "My cool friend cuts himself, so I'll cut myself", "I know I'll f*ck up my liver if I drink too much, but what the hell...I'm having fun" . The unique individuals, are the ones who have the common sense not to be so easily manipulated into following fads or peer pressure.

Individuality was never a strong point for humans, but in this day and age, it seems to be faring even worse.
