  • Most, if not all, of the Bible is a conglomeration from older myths and legends, especially those about Mithra. Check it out - he was born on Dec 25th, his followers dragged a pine tree into their homes to celebrate, he was son of (the Sun) god, he was referred too as "the good shepherd", "the way, the truth and the light", "redeemer", "savior" and "Messiah". He was identified with both the lion and the lamb. All this about 500BC.
  • most if not all xtian contents are made up from various pagan sources, from before xtian time.
  • Same stories.. many tellers.
  • Yes... Christianity was made popular quickly because it absorbed the existing religions and confined them to a monotheistic and single religion. Why do you hide eggs on Easter? What is with the bunny? What do those things have to do with Jesus' resurrection? Do you know why Halloween exists? What does a pine tree have to do with Jesus' birth? These are just holiday-specific examples. Most stories in the Bible are changed slightly from pre-existing Pagan stories. Christianity is a very new religion in the scope of things. Paganism is everything from the first caveman who thought there may be a higher power on.
  • Don't go here of all places to get the answer: there are avid Christians here and atheists and anti-Christians. You'll get mixed answers, from those who either want you to trust in Christianity of those who wish to spread their own hatred for Christ. Search elsewhere for these answers. In my faith and belief, all Bible accounts are true accounts, not just stories or fairy tales as many treat them. But again, here's the wrong place to find answers.
