My cat had a similar problem. The lump was about half way down the tail - I took him to the vet. Sorry I don't mean to scare you, but it turned out to be cancer. Apparently a very rare kind, the vets had never seen it before. My cat is 14 years old - they did many tests and said there didn't appear to be anything else wrong with him so the tail was amputated. It cost around $600, but Satchmo still has a few good years left in him. He's adapted quite well to life without his tail. I hope your cat is doing okay.

take her for a vet visit. She is your buddy and dont want anything to happen to her.
