Thats why I don't like religion.

A perfect example of why religion will get us nowhere.

"If religious people believe in one god..." Simple: they don't. Why do football supporters fight over which code is better? (soccer, Rugby Union, RUgby League, AFL, Gridiron). Surely, if they believe in the same game (football), then why do they fight with others that believe in the same game with a different point of view? Why? because the ground rules are different. Now, I happen to believe that football is not an important thing to differ over, but, as we see from recent news, two Aussie sailors were almost jailed because they beat up a guy over which code was best. If people disagree strongly on something that has no bearing over a person's destiny, how can you expect people not to disagree with something that is much much more important? (ie how the world should run, what is the ultimate destiny of humans?) Be realistic.

religion doesnt do that religious fanatics do

This question is not about religion. It's about the ignorance of people who feel they are better than someone else. Vanity, etc. And, the need to have to be right no matter what it is about. Ignorance.

Because religious and non religious alike want to rule the world, and rule over others. Look at african leaders, or other monarch's. All is well thats for themselves. God tells us to give up the world not to take it. But we dont seem to listen very well.

because in reality those religions were created by people who were seeking power. They would say their God is great because of his rules because their rules have to be followed in order to sustain a government and therefore all other religions must be destroyed in order to bring total control. That in my opinion is why religions hate atheists so much! YEY!!!!! It is like Adolf Hitler and the Jews. Hitler (an evil god) said worship me because I am trying to establish a rule so that my opinions can be established but the Jews with their god are fighting with Hitler to establish their opinions and beliefs. I hope I didn't offend anyone that is Jewish.

There are MANY religions, but one God, Jehovah. People have been deceiving themselves and others for centuries in believing in and worshipping gods in ALL sorts of religions, which range from monothiem (one god) to polytheism (many gods). As obvious as it may or may not be, muslims don't worship the same god as Christians, for islam has a intricately woven facade of pseudo Christianity that veils a heart of darkness, and while they say that they are worshipping Allah, it is Satan himself who is driving them to kill Jews and Christians. Jihads are Satan's tool to wipe out God's chosen people, Israel, as well as the Gentile Bride of Christ, which certainly includes, but is not limited to, America. Ultimately, many people worship imaginary gods, or even nature or the belief in no god, atheism, for all beliefs concerning God, if even in the denial thereof, are still religions. Humanism is also a religion, and that is the underlying them of evolution, though it is not explicitly stated, but QUITE implied.

Religion is any form of worship. It includes a system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices; these may be personal, or they may be advocated by an organization. Usually religion involves belief in God or in a number of gods; or it treats humans, objects, desires, or forces as objects of worship. Much religion is based on human study of nature; there is also revealed religion. Therefore, there is true religion and false. A recent tabulation concluded that there are 10 main religions and some 10,000 sects. Of these, some 6,000 exist in Africa, 1,200 in the United States, and hundreds in other lands. Many factors have contributed to the development of new religious groups. Some have said that the various religions all represent different ways of presenting religious truth. But a comparison of their teachings and practices with the Bible indicates, rather, that the diversity of religions is because people have become followers of men instead of listening to God. It is noteworthy that, to a large extent, teachings they hold in common, but that differ from the Bible, originated in ancient Babylon. Who is the instigator of such religious confusion? The Bible identifies Satan the Devil as “the god of this system of things.” (2 Cor. 4:4) It warns us that “the things which the nations sacrifice they sacrifice to demons, and not to God.” (1 Cor. 10:20) How vitally important, then, to make sure that we really are worshiping the true God, the Creator of heaven and earth, and that our worship is pleasing to him! Are all religions acceptable to God? Perhaps some don’t want to accept the fact that they could be misled into believing false hoods. Judg. 10:6, 7: “The sons of Israel again proceeded to do what was bad in the eyes of Yahweh, and they began to serve the Baals and the Ashtoreth images and the gods of Syria and the gods of Sidon and the gods of Moab and the gods of the sons of Ammon and the gods of the Philistines. So they left Yahweh and did not serve him. At this Yahweh’s anger blazed against Israel.” (If a person worships any thing or any person other than the true God, the Creator of heaven and earth, it is evident that his form of worship is not acceptable to Yahweh.) Mark 7:6, 7: “He [Jesus] said to them [the Jewish Pharisees and scribes]: ‘Isaiah aptly prophesied about you hypocrites, as it is written, “This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from me. It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach as doctrines commands of men.”’” (Regardless of whom a group profess to worship, if they hold to doctrines of men instead of the inspired Word of God, their worship is in vain.) Rom. 10:2, 3: “I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God; but not according to accurate knowledge; for, because of not knowing the righteousness of God but seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.” (People may have God’s written Word but lack accurate knowledge of what it contains, because they have not been taught properly. They may feel that they are zealous for God, but they may not be doing what he requires. Their worship is not going to please God, is it?) So the question again is, are all religions acceptable to God? Most religions do teach that a person should not lie or steal, and so forth. But is that sufficient? Would you be happy to drink a glass of poisoned water because someone assured you that most of what you were getting was water? 2 Cor. 11:14, 15: “Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness.” (Here we are cautioned that not everything that originates with Satan may appear hideous. One of his chief methods of deceiving mankind has been false religion of all kinds, to some of which he gives a righteous appearance.) 2 Tim. 3:2, 5: “Men will be . . . having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.” (Regardless of their outward professions of love for God, if those with whom you worship do not sincerely apply his Word in their own lives, the Bible urges you to break off such association. The point is, If we want our worship to be acceptable to God, we would be wise to make sure that what we believe lines up with God’s word. VEW

Not religion but "organized" religion. And like any organization, competition is never good for business.

they fight because there is no knowledge of God . There is an abundance of being lost in thought. There is an abundance of book learning without any direct experience of God. How can i say that? There are certain things that happen when one has a direct experience of God. All the cat fighting , and separation playing, fighting, killing in the name of Religion, and ignorance disappear. There is a total illumination that results in Love awareness and understanding that we are all one. One can study all of the scriptures and all of the religions for a lifetime, and yes a lot of understanding will ensue, but that person never sees God. in order to see God you must die. YOU being the ego, must die. you don't die but the ego has to disappear to have a direct experience. God is beyond thought, but most believers are still in thought. they never get out of thought. so, they might think they know God but they are just thinking...

It's not the religion it's Humanity. Since the beginning of time religion has played a major role...Pharaoh's and so forth trying to change one's point of view. God is a higher good therefore any religion who choose to creat war or change someone's point of view for the worse should be Satanic because that is the enemy who stepping in.

Because they are religious, and religion is man's attempt at making peace with God by doing the same thing over and over and over, with organ music playing, a collection plate passing around, and also it's about doing good things to earn points to make it into paradise. However, Jesus is NOT about religion! Knowing God, and following the teachings of the Bible is about having a relationship with the one who made it all. I don't believe in religion, I believe in Jesus, He is the good news!

The purpose of any religion really is to create sentient beings who are compassionate towards one another and strive to coexist with each other in harmony. In that sense, a Christian who is constantly harassing, tormenting, criticizing, and trying to convert a Jew to his religion can't really be called a Christian. So to answer your question as to why religious people who believe in one God fight with others that believe in--essentially--the same God, it's because they're not really 'religious people'. What is a Christian? Is he someone who's been baptized OR is he someone who actively practices what Jesus preached and encourages others to do the same?
