What do the folks at Good Morning America do while my station cuts away for local news?

Well i've been in a radio station and normaly the people at the station just simply press a button which generates local news, it should be through every local station(may be diff in america). Norm they will just be preapring for the next bit, hope this helps.

Usually, they have some coffee, Bs with the crew, smoke a cigarette, check their makeup, review their copy/stories, compile last minute changes, and prepare to go back live. (I'm familiar with this because I worked in radio, commercial and public television.)
