Help answer this question below.
Is it plugged in?
Make sure that the power cables are properly in place, and that the power outlet/ surge protector is working properly too.
If the above is taken care of, THEN press the power button, with the back of the computer facing YOU not AWAY from you as it normally would be. Look at the fan in the back of the computer as you press the power button. If the fan is not spinning, or starts to spin, then stops, then that means that you power supply (of which the fan is sitting on top of), is blown, and needs to be replaced.
1) Check the circuit breaker and make sure it hasen't blown.
2) Check your surge protector and make sure it functions. Try using a different one or plugging the computer directly in to the wall.
3) Check the power cords, make sure both ends are plugged in.
4) If the above options fail or the outlet has power and the computer is plugged in, then it's likely going to be a component inside of the computer. If you can, open the side of the computer case then look inside and tell us if you see any lights on. If you do, then the power supply is good and it may mean the motherboard or some component attached to it has gone bad.
I was about to download a video on my Toshiba laptop when my computer shutdown. I need to update my driver. How should I do this?

My power supply stopped working after I tried to scan with my new color laser printer on. Both heavy power users. I checked and am sure the PSU is bad. I installed a new PSU and everything powers up but I can't get a picture. Tried resetting the BIOS.

I plugged my computer into a station that was running 230v power. It will no longer turn on of course. I would like to know what will need to be replaced to repair it. I was thinking it would be the whole power supply, am I correct?
