i was baptised catholic, but my parents moved to utah when i was young so i was brought up in a very mormon society. my parents never converted, nor were they very religious in the first place. so i had a chance to look at a very strongly believed religion very closely, but from an outside perspective. anyway, long story short, neither catholosism or mormonism much interested me, so i grew up pretty much agnostic, believing in a god, but not any religion in particular. after going to college for a bit, reading some acedemic literature, and learning what is not taught in high schools dominated by religion, i was only convinced by atheism. i could not consider myself rational, with the things i had learned, and still believe that there was a supreme being that created and controls everything. throughout though, i still believed in the human spirit. i came to the edge of nihilism, but not quite. but totally unexpected, there came a series of deeply spiritual experiences. all personal, but very meaningfull. after continuing these experiences, and the readings of some kinds of buddhism, and a version of the tibetan book of the dead, i have come to be a very spiritual person. i still denounce any religion, or form of any singular god. but experience tells that there is much to be thought about your true self as a part of a collective concious. who else really knows what is to come as you trickle down to the ocean and once you get there, except yourself?

I have studied them and taught comparative religion.

Haven't gone through them in depth but I think they all contain a lot of dogma which I think is manipulative. Therefore, I don't practice any particular religion. However, I do believe in a creator/God. Can't believe everything happened by accident.

I have wanted to do an indepth world religion study moreso as a socialogy project than for my own theology. I think of myself as an agnostic "Mulder" spiritualist. -I want to believe

studied christianity, adventism, buddhism and taoism came to the conclusion that a lot of religions claim to be right and fight over who is wrong when they all are at their core about the same. Though I tend to like taoism and buddhism more because they are less about dogma and diety worship and more about harnessing the powers within ones self to attain enlightenment as opposed to converting the world and waiting to die to reach heaven. Boy I know I am gonna get it for this but most diety worshipping religions are mostly death cults. They focus too much in suffering now to get to a perfect kingdom instead of making the most of now and living for now instead of waiting to die.

I've been a devoute christian from 1 to 13 and never questioned any customs and beliefs of my former religion. About a year and a half ago though,I started to study my belifes more closely and after gathering information on both sides, I found it to incomprehensible(no offense intended to other christians,I respect all beliefs) so I renounced any beliefs in it.Now I really have no religion and more or less find atheism to be the best choice and have started to formally adopt it.I think of it as choosing logic over ignorance, still no offense intended to other christians. So despite my parents belief in the christian god,I found another path that makes sense to me.
