  • You should do this in the restroom before you get to class. If you are early, then you have time before class. If you are late, then you are going to disturb the class by coming in late anyway. Adding further distractions by putting on deodorant in the class is just plain rude. I don't know why you are coming into class sweaty. If it is because of the way in which you get to class, then you should be scheduling enough time to take care of this before you go to class. Note, I am a college level instructor and I get very annoyed when people do things that distract from the lesson. ***************** "Shultz: Today, I came to class exactly on time, at the bottom of the hour. (11:30) At least I took a shower right before, so I don't think the sweat did anything. No, I used deodorant right after class. My class was Japanese I. What subject do you teach?" If you had just taken a shower, then that means that you also had to get dressed. It does not take that much time to apply deodorant before while you are dressing. You should have done it then and you would not have had to worry about it when you got to class.
  • It is best to come to class refreshed with what ever grooming that needs to be done completed at home. Did you apply deodorant in the classroom? I would imagine that would draw some looks and be embarrassing. It sounds as if you are rushing around a bit. Be fair to yourself, give yourself more time to get ready in the morning. Change your routine for the positive. Why do you think that you are rushing? Is the room too hot? Are you sweating because of over exerting yourself? You are paying a lot for your education, you should be enjoying it, not enduring it. Get enough sleep, wake up a little earlier, and take your time for a smooth routine in the morning.
  • I believe that you should definitely excuse yourself from the class by asking to going to the restroom and taking care of it there as you are not disrespecting anyone in anyway. Your professor, an/or teacher may get angry and tell you its inappropriate as well as classmates. I would think of it as a disruption and defintely would not want anyone doing it to disturb class.
  • Appearantly most people wouldn't think twice about you doing so. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/1069784 Better than letting your classmantes suffer:
  • i would wait untill class is over with then go to the bathroom and out it on.
  • It is really not appropriate to do those kinds of things in public.
  • In college, I have witnessed it and I, YES I, have done it. I think it depends greatly on the person. A class clown can easily get away with it (like me) but a shy, introverted person would be made into more of an outcast :-( To be safe, I suggest doing it in the stall of a bathroom before class. If you're a girl then it's okay to use lotion (just slather it all over your arms and secretly/accidentally rub your underarms if you can make it look like that. If you get caught just laugh it off :D Armpits can get dry! lol ;) If you're a guy, you can try the lotion technique. If you don't have lotion, borrow it from a girl and do that and use the dry armpit excuse in a silly manner. I know this was like 3 years ago that you asked but...just my experience ;p
  • Do it in the bathroom. Why would you do it in class? o.O
  • Don't come to class just yet, go to the bathroom and use deodorant there first. You will be a little late for class, so what !!!
  • your overthinking it all. People are just people. Everyone uses deotorant (i hope). if they really care then they can look away. its better than you stinking up the place and better than getting in trouble for being late.
  • I had professors who would throw you out of class for that. Of course that was 40 years ago.
  • Please dont do it in class. Before u get to class is best. In the restroom, first wet a napkin and clean your armpit first. Use soap and water. Dab dry and then apply deodorant. If someone comments on your body odor, ask to go to the restroom.
