I want to do a formal resume, but I don't want to pay some generic site to do it, can I just get a form or template from somewhere and do it solo, and if so, you know a place I can go to?

Yes, MS Word has several templates for creating resumes using their "wizards." You may already have MS Word on your computer in "MS Office."

If you have Microsoft Word or a similar product there are several resume templates built in.

I made my resume using a template that I got on Microsoft Word from a few years ago. It shouldnt matter what operating system you are running. There should be a "resume builder" or "resume wizard" on any OS, something to that affect. So tool around in whatever word processing program you use, or go to Help and look up resume wizard and it should give you a few templates to chose from. I also used to go to monster.com for sample resumes/cover letters, etc.
