  • To me my normal spoken voice sounds ok, but listening to it on a recording makes me want to puke. I ask my wife if that is how I really sound to her and others she tells me yes. OMG
  • Embarrased? Not really. I don't like it. And it can go *really* high at times, but not embarrassed.
  • Yes my voice sounds so high pitched and childish to me when I hear it on a recording.
  • I think it's pointless to worry about things that can't be changed. For the people who pick on other people about things that can't be changed, it's petty- and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Be happy about who you are. It is what makes you you. But to answer your question- I'm not embarassed, but I find it amusing that I sound like I'm 15 when I talk on the phone. At least, it sounds like it to me.
  • Only when I'm recorded. My voice sounds weird when its recorded.
  • I'm sometimes a bit self-conscious about my voice, which is a bit on the "low" side. I purposely talk a note "higher" sometimes to sound more normal, but that's hard to do, and I always fall back to my rather low voice.
  • Nah, my voice is sexy. Or something.
  • I have one of the wierdest voices ever. I used to be very self concious about it, and I hated speaking in public or on the phone. But like somebody else said here, I can't really change it, I just accept it! My boyfriend said recently to me: "I love your waist, i love your curves, i love your skin, everything about you is so femenine... except for your voice!" Charming, haha! I don't mind, I think they way he said it was hillarious!
  • Sometimes I am embarrassed because it is rather Upper Crust. Others because people say I sound like an 0900 Operator,.
  • I am, like others, not when it is in my head, but on an answering machine. I also recently discovered how bad my laugh was (also from a recording) I just like to ignore it :o)
  • Dunno about embarassed but i don't like it much.
  • Not really. Well, at least not anymore. My voice is eh...but when I was younger it was whoa.
  • having laryngitis every couple of months and being a teacher, immunized be to feeling embarrassed about my voice or laughter....I do know that i speak much more softly on the phone than I do in real life....weird
  • Yeah I was always told I was a really good singer and could go proffessional, however I hate the sound of my own singing voice and despite generally sounding like a foghorn I don't dislike my everyday voice. So as a response I don't have the confidence to sing at all.
  • Uhmmm... No, not really. I just don't really like it much. The recorded one sounds a bit not great. But the one I hear is actually fine. :)
  • When I was younger I didnt like a lot about me but now I kind of like my voice. :)
  • I am not embaressed by anything, however I regret that puberty took my vocal skills. I could imitate christine, roul and the phantom from the original cast of phantom of the opera (sarah brightman, michael crawford, and I do not know who did roul) I could also mimic an elc call with my vocal cords... something hunters use reeds to do.
  • Ha ha, no I'm not embarrased by my voice, but I can say that it is very uncomfortable listening to my voice. I don't know why. I was in a college public speaking class where we had to record our speeches, and watch them at home. When I put the tape in at home, I cringed. I think everyone to some extent hates their voice, but some people truly do have beautiful ones. I just make do with what I got, and move on with it.
  • Only when I sing and that is NEVER!!!
  • I don't like my voice. I think it sounds nasal although others have said it's fine *shrugs*
  • No. I'm 16 and I like it! My voice is getting deeper and it is kinda good when recorded. :)
  • The first time I heard a quality recording of my voice I was surprised. My voice is softer than I thought with a slight southern twang I was unaware of.
