  • I think it is mainly an American thing but I bet it has been adopted by English speakers in other nations either as a way to act colloquially in a jibing manner just as Americans talk in a pseudo-British manner or by saying Krikey, ain't she a beaut! There must be some transcultural assimilation or so I would imagine.
