  • I'm holding my hands up here - I used to be one of those girls! I was so used to getting my own way, my current s/o was a shock to the system. With me, my s/o would never chase after me if I stormed off during an argument. He would come to me and say "When you're ready to stop acting like a petulant child, I'll talk to you." and believe me, I knew he wouldn't come after me! I used to get so angry with him, until I realised he was right, I was acting like a child. It takes a long time, but you really have to learn to discuss things rather than argue. Don't raise your voice (neither should your girlfriend) and also learn to listen. It's really easy to think "I'm right, they're wrong." without actually taking on board what they're saying. More often or not my boyfriend and I find that we actually agree on something but are too busy putting our fingers in our ears and going "lalalalala". Don't be afraid to tell your girlfriend how you feel. If she starts sulking, be patient but persist until you make it clear that it's not going to happen anymore. Good luck! xx
