  • Try unplugging all your non-essential USB devices before booting up. You can leave keyboard/mouse/printer connected but everything else must go. I recent;y found myself having the same problem and finally tracked it down to my new iPod. If the iPod was connected when I booted up, Windose would load half-way and then freeze with a blank screen. It may not be the same problem but it's worth a try. Hope this helps.
  • I'd be more likely to suspect too high of a resolution was chosen accidentally. Try booting in safe mode to verify this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode
