  • 2 cycle oil is colored green as a rule. This is so it gives the fuel a greenish tint after mixing so that you can tell mixed from unmixed. There is also a distinct difference in the way mixed fuel smells.
  • Chainsaws are the "Power Freaks" of small Engines! I love them. Technology has them running on the "Freaking Edge" to the point that WITH PROPER OIL MIX but improper RPM limiting they will come apart in Ur hands!!! Some like Stihl use "Pulse Skipping" as a "Limit" others use carburation. If U don't set them up with a"Tach" they can Fry!!! This being said, look carefully @the piston, rings, gudgeon pin & bearings for signs of dryness/heat. If not present, it wasn't an "Oil Issue". Look upon disassembly at the head of the piston to see it was put together right, there is an "Arrow" that in most cases points to the Exhaust properly. Is the "Chrome Plating "Sluffed" off the "Cylinder" yet there is plenty of Oil in mix??? Could be bad Cylinder.
