  • Yes they have low self esteem but it is also a disorder in and of itself called body dysmorphic disorder. http://www.healthyplace.com/Communities/Eating_Disorders/peacelovehope/bdd.html Edit: Someone with BDD is obessed with what they believe their flaws are. It is an extreme. Everbody has things about their body they don't like but people with this disorder allow those feeling to keep them from functioning. BTW bdd is extremely common in people who also have an eating disorder but not everyone with BDD has one. You may dislike your thighs but would you not go to a party because of how much you hate them. Or would you being willing to go through corrective surgery after corective surgery only to still not be happy. Everybody loosely fits one illness or another but it is when our symptoms keep us from living life that we have a problem and need to get help.
