The Prince's in the tower, who murdered them, who put them there? Who really ended up on the English throne.

Rudolf Hess, the #2 man in the Nazi party, went (further) off the deep end and flew to England to try to negotiate a peace. However, he apparently took off in a plane w/ one number painted on the side, and crashed in a different plane. The man who landed didn't have the very noticeable scars from a WW1 bullet wound that Hess had. At the Nuremburg trials, the man didn't recognize "his" wife & family. He died in 1989 in Spandau from "self-strangulation", despite the fact that he couldn't raise his arms that high. (There are further related questions which I've forgotten.) Was it really Hess? Was Britain putting out feelers about negotiating a cease-fire?
