A question for mothers with daughters: When your daughter got her first period, what kinds of advice did you give her? (ex: more iron in diet, drink plenty of water?)

My Mom was a nurse and thought it would help to draw me a picture. It was pretty amusing. I don't do anything special with my period so I myself wouldn't advise any vitamins and what not. This stuff they should have been doing before anyways. Of course this is only me, but that is how mine was done. When my daughter is old enough I will try and be very open and be able to answer all the questions, maybe they can be answered here for me...lol...Good lucK!!

My mom got all teary eyed, gave me a pad, made sure I knew how to use it, and suggested I take some Advil (not Asprin). Then she had to go cook a turkey, because it was on Thanksgiving morning.

My mom just told me to always wash in cold water because hot water sets bloodstains. Thanks, Mom. ^_^
