Both, because, if they weren't "born" they wouldn't become a hero in the future. Or they are "made" heroes because of they way they act or save others.

I think a bit of both. I think that some of our beliefs, ideologies, and values are pre-installed inside our subconciousness at birth and they emerge with time... as our thought processes shape and develope. as these ideas, beliefs, and values develope overtime, so does personality and character. from this, the tendency for one to become a "hero" is created or made. so it's both. you also have to remember that heros are not just people who save cats from trees. it is deeper and more complex

Alright, technically both, but I have to go with made on this one, as my primary answer. The reason: People put under an enormous amount of pressure and facing unusual circumstances find reserves within themselves that they didn't know they had. I think certain people have it instilled in them when they're younger to do the right thing. However, that being said, some people come upon certain realizations based on instinct that tell them to act in a certain manner, and the argument could be that they were just born that way.
