  • Well, you see...sometimes in life you have a lot of something that is not easily defined. It was at one of those times that one of the inventors of our language became very stressed because he had no word for randomly undefined groups of things. His children kept asking him what they could call the collection, and he realize that it really wasn't anything. Out of sheer frustration in a rare moment of stuttering, he exclaimed "what not!" because he was thinking that it wasn't any specific "what" as his children were asking. How you do these things depends on what exactly is in your whatnot, but it's normally a complicated and confusing process.
