  • Allow hard avocados three to five days to ripen at room temperature. A ripe avocado is soft to the touch. You can also store avocados in a paper bag. Put an apple in the bag to ripen them more quickly.

  • Put it in a brown paper bag and place in a warm location.
  • Also, if you put a little salt on the head, where the stem came out and put the avocado in a brown-paper bag it would be ready for eating the next day. I've done this many times, it does work.
