  • Aparently they are now deciding to teach our children that this did NOT happen. Can you just imagine how all the jewish community feels about this? I am angered and outraged and I have no family history involved. I feel that there are some people that make a deal with the DEVIL! hitler, kneau, all those ugly actors or actresses that unexplicitedly get amazing roles, kathy bates ect.
  • He used the same tactic as every other politician has throughout time. He lied to them.
  • Life was pretty tough in Germany at the time and the people were looking for hope and an improvement in their lives, Hitler was a strong leader who convinced desperate people that he was the man to provide answers to their plight.
  • DO you believe that it would be hard to join the Nazi party if you were an unemployed family man trying to feed your family because of the hyperinflation caused by the treaty of Versailles. To joining the nazi party meant that you were part of some thing. And being a part of the nazi party meant that you were not going to be humiliated by asking for handouts or standing in the street in a soup line. Now I'm no nazi sympathizer by no means. The treaty of Versailles was one most influential that started the Nazi party and with it the leader of it was Adolph Hitler and so were the seeds of World war two
  • HE SOLD EM SOME CRACK ROCKS AND AIDS NEEDLES AND ASS RAPED G.W. BUSH
  • Marketing. The name didn't stink the way it does now.
  • Germany was in the grips of economic and political depression from WWI. Also, national pride was at an all time low. Here comes this guy who offers a chance to Revive Germany! His name is Hitler, who also was a corporal in WWI. Double whammy. He offers a plan and he pumps up German pride. He did not state out front his plans... he gave them a pretty picture, lying about what was done to those who were sent to the Camps. According to propaganda, they were being deported, not slaughtered. Also, Goebbels was, frankly, a brilliant propaganda minister and, with Goebbels help, he united the "Master Race" against the impure peoples. By the time they got a clue, the hatred against the various peoples was inset and many of the "right" Germans would have willingly shipped the others off to the camps and turned a blind eye to evidence like billowing smoke from the camp ovens. Again, think about post WWI Germany here: now Hitler (with Goebbels help) provided an Internal Foe. This gave the German people something to focus their anger and resentment on. There also was the fear factor: if you did not tow the Nazi party line, or at least pretend to, you and your family went to the camps or were gunned down in your homes. Some of those Nazis were not... they just kept their mouths shut to save their lives.
  • I dunno. Economic need with a dash of hubris? ;-)
  • In a nutshell, empty promises, basically. Promises of a better life, for both the people and their children, all of which never happened.
  • Its true that Germany had suffered hyper inflation in the 1920s, and this had been caused by the reparations that had to pay for war damage.People were depressed and were looking for someone who could get them out of the hole they were in. Hitler took advantage of the peoples worries, and when he came to power in 1933 he gave them what they wanted and that was employment in factories and building a system of motorways etc.Once in power the Nazi's could not be removed and the people must have known this but could do nothing about it.They were kept in line by the Gestapo who the people thought were all over the place but in fact they were very thin on the ground and they relied on informers to get their information. Germans new from the beginning that Hitler hated Jews and if they had all bothered to read his book Mein Kamf (My Struggle)which laid out in detail what he intended to do when in power they would have been under no illusions whatsoever. As for the deportation of the Jews of course the German public knew that they were being deported east but I do not think it was common knowledge about the death camps. When their Jewish neighbours families were taken away they used to go and loot all their furniture and possessions. On arrival at the camps the transports were unloaded and the poor unfortunate victims were graded and those that were deemed unfit for work such as the old, infirm, women and children were put to death immediately.Incidentally the victims of the Holocaust were not transported their for free, as every country that the train passed through had to be paid a tariff for using their railway lines. The rich Jews from France actually travelled to Auschwitz - Birkenau in first class Pullman carriages with dining cars and sleepers thinking that they were being resettled in the east. And for this privilege they paid for their own fare. On arrival the train pulled into a purposely built railway station that even had baggage carts loaded with luggage on the platform. The SS had gone to great lengths not to panic them as they wanted them to go freely to the gas chambers. Even the station clock was a dummy and if they had looked closer at the painted on hands they would have seen that it was not working.Their tickets were even clipped by a ticket collector. They then walked down a long paved road call Der Himmel Stasse. 'The Road to Heaven'.The road was lined with cypress trees and at the end was a roman temple facade which hid the gas chamber. The SS even had an ambulance parked outside with white coated medical assistants just to give a sense of well being. It seems very hard to believe that people actually paid money to go to their deaths, but this was Nazi Germany and anything could happen.
  • Hitler wanted to return Germany to glory and, even if you do not agree with his methods, tried very hard to achieve that ends.
