Great Googly Mooglies, it's been a while! hard to remember

Just to add a "dime's worth" -- I recently rediscovered the phrase "great googly mooglies" on, of all places, the NOGGIN network. A show called "Maggie and the Ferocious Beast" (said beast is absolutely charming, in fact!) has Beast using it as "his" catch phrase. When I heard it while watching the show with my two-year-old grandson, my ears perked up as I used to run with a crowd (in the 70's) who regularly used the term. I could NOT, for the life of me, remember from whence it came but knew it was used by one of our influential musicians. God Bless you, Weatherman is green, for providing the information because trying to remember has been driving me ballistic for about four (4) months!!!

Sure, I listen to Apostrophe regularly, and I don't eat any yellow snow!

I have a few times when dealing with my kids. It's something that catches them off gaurd and always brings a smile to their faces. It's just one of those cute ad silly phrases.

No, but just reading it made me laugh, thanks

I have never heard of it until now. I like it, I like it.

Oh yes.

I use it now and then, to faint surprise and get a chuckle.
-
Never heard of it actually, but I think I'll start using it. :)
-
Yeah, whenever I do my blackface routine.
-
No, but it sounded pretty cool when Frank Zappa used it. :-)
-
Only when I sing along to Howlin Wolf.
-
OMG, YES! That is one of my favorite non-swearing phrases. That and "Zoiks! Scoob!!"
-
hahaha! Yes! But it's been awhile, I have to admit.
-
Great Googly Mooglies, you say? Come to think of it, no, but I'm enlightened now. Egads!
