  • how old are you? How old is this 'kid'? you just need to build up some courage, which isn;t always easy. Find something you have in common and bring it up. Something you're comfotable and knowledgeable about. That'll make it a little easier. Everyone's nervous about first talking to the person they like. Butterflies in your stomach, etc...but it feel so GREAT when you finally do it.
  • It is something you have to practice to get. You have to act like you would if you weren't shy until it feels comfortable. This means putting yourself in plenty of situations where you have to introduce yourself and make conversation with people you don't know and aren't perfectly comfortable with. I think shyness, from my own experiences, comes from a place of fear of embarrassing yourself. Thing is embarassment is rarely fatal. And everybody can relate. As for your friend, go for it! Life is too short to not do what you want to do because of what someone else might think.
  • The easiest confidence booster in the world: Just THINK you are confident and you WILL be. Its so simple and I've discovered this trick since "growing up" but Im not so grown up that I dont remember what the unconfident feeling is like. ;) Just pretend that you think you're the coolest thing out there (because you ARE!) and so will other people! Including this guy ;) Act like you belong and you DO! It totally works! And its extremely useful as you get older also.....
