I don't believe that the Baptists have an age limit, it is the parents decision.(I grew up in a Baptist household) We were able to date at 16, but only with another adult couple present.

There really is no set age on this sort of things. It really all boils down to how your parents decide to raise you.

Really it depends on the parents, and their feelings about the spiritual strength of the girl and the boy. I myself did not let my oldest daughter date until she was 18, and then only in a group. My youngest daughter(16) has yet to go. I did give her permission to attend the prom this year, but the guy who'd asked her could not get his parents permission. This is for our childrens protection. We don't want them to make mistakes, and be drawn into probable divorces by marrying the wrong person. Much better to wait till they are more mature and capable of seeing through a guy's line of bull.

The Baptists do not observe any particular age before dating. We also don't have confirmations for girls on their 16th birthdays like the Catholics. It could very well be that my daughters will date starting at different ages. It all depends on thier level of maturity and trustworthiness. For driving, it is the same exact thing, except that I will NOT be allowing either of them to drive until they are around 17-18.
