Moth balls in the gas tank. It raises the octane level.

If it has a tachometer, watch the red line!

press the gas pedal =P

Shift?
-
aftermarket induction, larger exaust system, remember the more horses you have the more you have to feed them.
-
Shift properly - let the clutch out for the next gears at the optimum rpm. You will learn what the optimum rpm is when you can engage the clutch without any jerkiness. Rev match when downshifting. Rev it up higher before shifting. Shift quicker - whenever you are waiting to shift you are loosing speed.
-
check the gear ratio an ' change them to higher' or change the tire size.

Could you be a little more vague?
-
it depends on the make and model of car. what is it?
-
yes... you can make a manual car go faster than an automatic
-
I have a Motor Trend magazine from 1971, road tested the supercars for that year. Probably the most powerful stock car ever made was the Olds 442. They road tested both automatic and the manual transmissions and they concluded that a manual shift cannot compete with automatic. Automatic was 0-60mph in 3.8 secs and manual was 0-60mph in 4.2 secs. So, to make it go faster, keep working on your shift techniques.

Shift faster.

manual cars have different final drive gear ratios, that's the big difference. first gear, when added to the rear end gear adds up to your final drive ratio, then secon + rear = fi et cetera. manuals gearing in the tranny is different then an automatics. some manuals can have those gears changed to different ratios depending on tranny make and model. if you're lucky enough to have a tranny that's modifiable that's a good option. every other speed option is the same as for autos. it all comes down to flow, better intake, head and exhaust flow ;)

Use the gears correctly. You don't need a revometer to know when to change gears. Us Brits have been driving manual cars for many many years. So we know what we're talking about. :)
-
have 1 ton clutches put in and change gear ratios

If you're simply talking about high end speed and not power than sloppywet is right about larger tires and gearing. You could find a rearaxle that is higher geared from another vehicle or a higher geared transmission is an option too. If muscle is what you want the suggestions from those who reccomend engine modifications are the way to go.

Turbocharged engine go for a re-map of the Engine Management System and get a superchip, including an induction kit,K&N are great. Also fit a recurculating Dump Valve and get a stainless mandrel bent straight through exhaust with a de-cat pipe and manifold. Naturally Aspirated do the same without the dump valve and remap, superchip etc. V Tec (honda engines) do the same as NA but get a V Tec Controller fitted. Or get an engine transplant. I know a man who bought a VW Lupo GTI and had a VW Corrado 2.9 VR6 shoehorned into this little thing. It now does 0-60 in 4.9 seconds. Hope this helps you

Depends on the car. There are many ways to make a car go faster. I would recommend surfing the web for car tuning websites if you want to make your car go fast.
