Is'nt the money being mailed a false hope ? because its only going to boost the economy for a month or two?

Shhh..no one is supposed to know that..and it may backfire anyway. The economy as it stands is pretty dreadful for the working class and the last thing the govt. wants folks to do is use that money to pay off bills or put in the bank. If people don't rush out to buy merchandise with the stimulus check the plan doesn't work. If they do rush out to buy..well ya made the stockmarket "look good" for a brief period :)

No it won't help, but ppl will get to pay off bills. I heard today they are thinking of giving us a second one. I am just happy to be getting "free" money to get things caught up. I just thought of this today, after reading an article about Bush saying this would help ppl with gas prices (which isn't what this is supposed to be for.) But to me I just wonder if he is trying to make himself look good, for all the negative things ppl are saying about him. I know it wasn't just HIS choice, but if it was done under his watch than it will make him look good. Just my thoughts. Just be happy we get it. YAY!!;)
