  • There is a cultural process in our society that tends to treat women "nicely" when time comes to sentencing. Maybe subconsciously but consistently, judges see in women "Mommies" who will be loosing their children and kids who will be suffering without their loving mothers. Men tend to be treated as creatures that will tolerate whatever gets in their way....

  • How many years did they get Wesley for? I know he won't serve all of them. Neither did my brother-in-law. He only served one. Martha was only convicted for one occurance. May be the difference. She also were very contrite. Really why, heck, I don't know just guessing like everyone else.
  • I agree with you here. Martha should be breaking rocks in the hot sun because she fought the law and the law won. He just didn't pay; she skirted the whole system.
  • If you try to cheat Uncle Sam, he will put the smack down on you eventually. The ones to suffer here are his kids and wife who must pay for his stupidity and negligence.
