Help answer this question below.

My mom is obsessed with American Idol and I myself can't stand watching a second of the show without getting nauseated what can I do to convince my mom that this show is rigged and just mindless entertainment for the masses.

    And what is wrong with mindless entertainment for the masses? Would you prefer that she was watching something that bored her stupid and offered no entertainment value at all? Or perhaps she should settle down to watch something a bit more intellectual and 'up-market' and not one of these 'mindless' shows that only seek to entertain? Just because you don't like it, it doesn't follow that she must not either. You could always go and buy yourself your own TV and use it to watch an alternative programme in another room when this show airs - or read a book.

    Probably not a lot. I'm addicted myself. Mindless entertainment for an hour sounds pretty good after a day dealing with the trials and tribulations of life. Doesn't seem like too much to ask to let her enjoy her show.
