  • Thank God!
  • ITS SOMETHING DIFFERENT
  • I lived in Canada for a while, they have a Beaver and Duck on theirs, get over it.
  • I think it sucks big time. I wondered how long it was going to take before this happened.
  • They've moved the inscription from the face of the coin to the thin edge, along with the year and the previous national motto, "E Pluribus Unum," Latin for "Out of Many, One." Their official reason is to allow space for larger portraits of the presidents on the face and the Statue of Liberty on the reverse. I don't have any thoughts about it except that I'm glad they didn't change it to In Oil We Trust.
  • Just another step towards removing the existence of God from our society. As a nation, we will reap what we sow.
  • I am glad. I believe that religion is one of those things that the government should have nothing to do with. If you feel that the government DOES have the right to force religion upon us, then bear in mind the messed up religions that exist. Do you support polygamy, pedophilia, and/or human sacrifice? If you feel that the government has that right so long as it's the religion you follow, then I am concerned that you may possibly turn outright genocidal. Whether you wear a cross or a swastika, you sincerely scare me. If you feel it's the government's DUTY to proselytize then you are a danger to society. God is obviously telling you things that he isn't letting the rest of us (including other Christians) in on.
  • The result of spineless people giving in to liberal tripe yo...
  • It bothers me since I'm a believer but I have to respect atheists
  • Well first a correction. "In God We Trust" has not always been on the dollar coin. That was started in 1908. http://www.treas.gov/education/fact-sheets/currency/in-god-we-trust.html My opinion is that they should take the phrase off of all our coins and bills altogether as I find it offensive to all those who do not believe in god, those who believe in multiple gods, and those who would prefer to use a different word than god.
  • esn't bother me, I think there are Americans that are not believers in God, they pay taxes and use currency too. Church and State should be separated.
  • That's only a small part. Save the complaints for when they take it off of ALL the coins.
  • I would not like God "on the edge," therefore it would seem to be blasphemous to use those coins. Thanks be to God he will be back on in '09. Perhaps leaving God out of our lives, we have begun to sunk as a country, especially in the financial area, becoming greedy.
  • I don't usually mind the word God because it is almost meaningless. If it said in "Christ We Trust" now thats F%^&* up. The further away from religion we can get the better. If it said "This is God" that would be better then I could keep "God" in my pocket.
  • please go to www.wallbuilders.com and there you will find the truth about what our great nation was found upon! The truth will set you free folks.. please study up and really learn before you speak! J
  • False http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/dollarcoin.asp
  • I see it just as another variation for the collectors.
  • It is a sign of how far we have fallen as a nation. All of the founding fathers spoke openly of their faith in Jesus Christ and the importance of teaching the Bible in school. The Capitol building was actually voted on and approved to be used as a church. God isn't welcome in the halls of congress and neither would our founding fathers be with their strong Christian values. I am not surprised we've kicked God out of our schools, out of our courtrooms etc. Since we don't trust God anymore as a nation He is removing His blessing. I guess we will see how we do without Him!
