Not to say you should have known that would have happened, but that seems to happen more often than not. Unless the friend is a complete f**k up. You may want to start looking elsewhere.

I've worked for almost 8 years in various restaurants. I've learned it's just simply the s**t you have to deal with. I'd approach the boss one-on-one and explain your concerns, and especially the encroachment on your duties. If all else fails, you can talk with all the employees privately, and they can pay her lip-service, while actually doing what you say.

don't worry , just let her to continue to f*ck up ..in the end she will hang her self..they always do , if anything quietly ask the other workers what they think and find out where you stand with them and if its all ok then tell them if they get in the shit for something she did make sure they tell the boss who's fault it was and they were only doing what they were told..by her!!
