Do you clean your house more than normal when you know you are having visitors over?

I always make sure the bathroom is clean- you know they're going to use it!

not at all. I am pretty clean and organized type. not going to shampoo a carpet just because someone is stopping by to see me.

Yes I do especially if they're staying overnight. I pay more attention to the guestroom and guest bathroom.

Sometimes, though there is something fake about that that annoyed me as a kid. When I have a surprise visitor, I often find myself cleaning up a bit rather than paying full attention to them, so I guess I didn't completely miss my mother's lesson.

No, I tend to keep up with it anyway. The only time I really clean more than normal is when I am angry, then I go on a cleaning frenzy.

Of course. My house is a pigsty under normal circumstances. I do not encourage visitors to drop by. I only clean when the dust bunnies and tracked cat litter get about ankle deep. This would make most people uncomfortable and be embarrassing for both sides. That's why I hate it when people just stop in unannounced, then complain about the cat odors. Give me at least a few hours notice for Pete's sake! Thank goodness for Fabreeze. My philosophy is "Why clean? It's only gonna get dirty again!"
