It's not Texas' fault. There are polygamy compounds in several states. Arizona, Utah, Oregon etc... They are everywhere. The government has to act within the bounds of the law. If this frustrates you, the solution is to change the laws or vote for different people tpo represent you that will change the law. It is not correct to blame an entire state for the actions of a few.

From what I have seen on the news, CPS removed all of the kids. Doesn't seem like they are permitting it.

Actually, freedom of religion is held in high value in the US. It's not easy to determine when a religious group is stepping over the line. That's why Texas authorities had to wait until they received a complaint. Are you willing to have the state of Texas dictate how each of its citizens worships? I'm not. There are religious cults in every state. There are clever methods of skirting laws against polygamy. Who has the omnicience to see which people are brainwashed? I know I don't, and we have to be careful not to stomp on religious freedom. We need to protect children, of course, but we can't protect adults from their own life choices.
