Unfortunately things we do in life CAN come back to get us but we don't think they can when we do them. In your case there are two things... Legal problems and tatoos. The legal problems are probably bigger than the tattoos will ever be. It may cause problems for you but be patient and understand that you caused the issue yourself but it can be overcome by proving yourself a benefit to society. The tattoos are far less important but still non- reversable. Until there is trust just keep them covered as much as possible. I don't see tattoos as being bad but many relate them to drunken misfits. The old stereotypes last a long time. Just be patient and put your best foot forward. The rest will follow. Good luck.

There is a crying need for nursing home attendants. The training programs are very easy to complete, and you can work while you are in training for the better positions. This includes homes for disabled adults of all ages, not just elderly. Personal care workers and rehabilitation workers are in especially high demand. Check with your local employment listings to find the area of greatest need, and then apply for a trainee position while you are completing your training.

When my mom was in the hospital, she was cared for by a nurse who looked like a biker! Tattoos all over, shaved head and big framed, he also had a big heart and everyone loved him. You may be required to wear clothing to cover the tats, or learn to use makeup to cover them for work, but if you are interested in health care, you are needed very badly. Go for it! And good luck.

I dont know... but I think a hospital is going to be very leery about hiring a felon since there are old and vulnerable people there.-Maybe not if your crimes weren't violent. I think your PO would have some good ideas. Do you like to build things, cook things, do something you like, thats where your talent is. Whatever you like, there is job training for it. I would also try to build up your resume and counter act that bad reputation with some volunteer work. Good luck-dont worry about the tats, if you've really changed, then it's other people job to look beyond them.

Just do the opposite to what you have been doing so far. All joking aside, you have made your life the way it is and now you are saying I want to find a good career. First things first. You have to find someone who trusts you (this will be hard)then you say I can go to school(who pays for this). For what? You had your chance just the same as the rest of us, you decided on a life of living easy by taking money (either by robbing us)or by being in jail, which we have to pay for. Do it the hard way buddy, work as a labourer for a couple of years without stealing or doing anything wrong then we may decide you are good enough for someone to take you into their employ. Until then, don't ask anyone to forgive you and set you up before the people who have done the right thing are set. You are the last in line.
